Background and personality<\/h3>\n

Regto is a man who lives in the slums of a floating city known as the \u201cSphere\u201d. These slums are a place of residence for the descendants of criminals and outcasts, whose garbage is thrown into \u201cthe Pit\u201d below.<\/p>\n

He found and adopted Rudo, the protagonist, when Rudo was a child. Regto raised him like his own son and became the only family Rudo had.<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Wise father figure:<\/b> Regto is known as a calm, thoughtful and loving figure. He often gave Rudo life advice and moral lessons.<\/li>\n
  • Instructor:<\/b> He was the one who taught Rudo how to \u201cdeceive\u201d objects (the ability to interact with inanimate objects) and gave him a basic understanding of the world.<\/li>\n
  • Protection:<\/b> Regto gives Rudo a special pair of gloves to hide his black hands, which are a sign of discrimination in the Sphere, and to protect him.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Regto's main role in the story occurs in the first chapters of the manga and the first episodes of the anime.<\/p>\n

    1. Tragic death<\/p>\n

    Gachiakuta's story begins when Rudo returns home and discovers Regto has been brutally murdered. He is stabbed by a mysterious masked figure known as \u201cAngel\u201d. Before dying, Regto tries to give Rudo his last words.<\/p>\n

    2. Defamation and expulsion of Rudo<\/p>\n

    Authorities from Sphere soon arrived on the scene. Instead of investigating the murder, they directly blame Rudo for Regto's death. As a slum dweller, Rudo had no right to defend himself. He is falsely accused, convicted, and sentenced to be \u201cthrown\u201d into \u201cthe Pit\u201d\u2014a gigantic abyss where all of the Sphere's trash is dumped.<\/p>\n

    3. Rudo's Main Motivation<\/p>\n

    Regto's death and Rudo's slander were his main motivations. Rudo's main goal is to survive in the Pit, become stronger, and return to the Sphere to find Regto's true Killer (\u201cAngel\u201d) and avenge him.<\/p>\n

    Legacy and mystery<\/h3>\n

    Despite his death, Regto's legacy lives on through Rudo and the mysteries surrounding his past.<\/p>\n

    • Gloves " Watchman\u201d:<\/b> The glove that Regto gave Rudo turned out to be no ordinary glove. It was a very powerful\u201d Jinki \u201c(Vital Instrument) from The\u201d Watchman " series, which allowed Rudo to unleash his true potential in fighting.<\/li>\n
    • Mysterious Book:<\/b> While killing Regto, the "Angel \u201calso takes an important book that Regto has, which seems to be related to The\u201d Watchman" series and knowledge of the world.<\/li>\n
    • The unknown past:<\/b> Regto's own background is a great mystery. The fact that he has rare Jinki and an important book shows that he is more than just an ordinary slum dweller. Many theories among fans speculate that Regto may have ties to\u201d Angel " or other groups outside of Sphere.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
