The story begins in World War II-era England, where Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, two of four brothers who were once kings and queens in Narnia, now live with their skeptical and annoying cousin, Eustace Scrubb. One day, while the three of them were in the room, a painting of an ocean liner on the wall suddenly came to life, and the water from the painting flooded the room. Miraculously, they are dragged into the world of Narnia, precisely into the sea near the ship Dawn Treader, led by King Caspian X.
