The Film not only highlights betrayal, but also explores other dark sides such as intrigue and mystical elements that add complexity to the story.
Movie Reviews
"La Tahzan" is a film that builds on the acting strengths of its cast. Marshanda again showed her qualities with a convincing emotional performance as a betrayed wife. Deva Mahenra managed to portray the figure of a husband caught in weakness, while Ariel Tatum performed stunningly as a complex “pelakor” figure.
Hanung Bramantyo as a director was able to concoct this viral story into a cinematic spectacle that shook feelings. With a duration of approximately 2 hours and 19 minutes, the storyline is kept intense, bringing the viewer to dissolve in the anguish and dilemmas that each character faces. The theme of infidelity raised, although common, feels relevant and close to current social issues, especially because it is raised from real stories.
Some early reviews called the film managed to make the audience “up the blood " and resentful, proving its success in building emotional connections. In addition to the drama of betrayal, a touch of mystical or occult elements become plot twist which gives it a different color than previous similarly themed films.
Compatibility As A Child's Spectacle: Very Incompatible
Based on the theme of the story, depiction of conflict, and its official age rating, the film “La Tahzan: Love, Sin, wounds” is not at all suitable for viewing by children.
Here are the main reasons:
- Adult Age Rating: The Film officially has an age rating 17+ (D17), which means it should only be viewed by viewers aged 17 and over.
- Complex and adult themes: The main themes of the film are infidelity, betrayal in marriage and the destruction of the household. These are complex issues that are difficult to understand and can have a negative impact on the child's psychological state.
- Intense Emotional Charge: The Film is loaded with emotionally draining scenes, such as violent quarrels, deep sadness and anger. Exposure to intense emotional conflicts like this is not good for a child's development.
- Presence Of Mystical/Occult Elements: The inclusion of elements of black magic or the occult can be a frightening and confusing spectacle for children.
Conclusion: "La Tahzan: Love, Sin, wounds” is a powerful and emotional drama aimed exclusively at adult audiences. Parents are strongly encouraged not to invite children to watch this film because the content is heavy and not appropriate for their age.
