Po and a new life as a Dragon Warrior
The Film begins with Po (voiced by Jack Black) enjoying his role as a Dragon Warrior in the Valley of peace. Bersama Furious Five—Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu), dan Crane (David Cross)—Po melindungi warga dari ancaman kecil seperti bandit. However, Po still struggles with uncertainty about his origins. He begins to be haunted by vague flashbacks of his childhood, especially after seeing the peacock symbol on the weapons of his defeated enemies.
Meanwhile, in Gongmen Palace, a distant city, Lord Shen (Gary Oldman), an ambitious and ruthless Peacock, returns from exile. Shen is the heir to the throne of Gongmen who was expelled for his obsession with creating dangerous firearms from gunpowder. With the giant cannon he developed, Shen plans to conquer all of China, destroy kung fu, and prove his dominance. Shen also has a dark past associated with Po, which is slowly revealed throughout the story.
Main conflict: Shen's threat and the mystery of Po's past
Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), guru Po, mendengar kabar tentang rencana jahat Shen dan mengirim Po serta Furious Five ke Gongmen untuk menghentikannya. On the journey, Po increasingly experiences confusing flashbacks, including images of his mother and a peacock symbol. He begins to question his identity: why would a panda like him be raised by Mr. Ping (James Hong), a goose who owns a noodle restaurant?
In an early fight against Shen, Po is interrupted by a flashback when he sees a peacock emblem on Shen's feather, which causes him to fail to capture his enemy. Shen escapes, and Po begins to realize that Shen may have the answers to the mysteries of his past.
Disclosure Of Po's Past
After a series of battles and escapes, Po is captured by Shen's forces. In prison, he meets a fortune teller (Michelle Yeoh), an old goat who was once Shen's advisor. The clairvoyant recounts his prediction: Shen will be defeated by a “black-and-white warrior.” To prevent this prophecy, Shen ordered the slaughter of all pandas in China, including the Po family. The Oracle also reveals that Shen is responsible for the death of Po's mother, who sacrificed herself to save Po as a baby. Po finally understands that he is one of the few pandas who survived the massacre.
This revelation takes a hit on Po. He felt disoriented and questioned his worth as a Dragon Warrior. However, with the help of the Furious Five and the wise advice of a clairvoyant, Po begins to learn to accept his past. He realizes that although he has lost his biological family, he has found a new family in Mr. Ping, Furious Five, dan Shifu.
Climax: the battle at Gongmen and Po's inner peace
With renewed vigor, Po reunites with the Furious Five to face Shen in the final battle at gongmen port. Shen deployed a fleet of gunboats to begin his invasion of China. Po, using the lessons of “inner peace” that Shifu taught him, confronts his past trauma and finds the strength to fight Shen. In a spectacular stunt, Po uses kung fu techniques to capture and redirect cannonballs, destroying Shen's fleet.
In the final confrontation, Po faces Shen one - on-one. Shen, overwhelmed by guilt and obsession, refuses to come to terms with his past. He attacks Po, but is eventually killed by an accident caused by his own cannon. Po, on the other hand, chooses to let go of his grudge and find peace by accepting his identity as a panda, Dragon Warrior, and adopted son of Mr. Ping.
Back to the Valley Of Peace
Po returns to the Valley of peace and shares an emotional moment with Mr. Ping, admits that he is her father, despite their species differences. Po also continues his training as a Dragon Warrior, more confident in his identity. Meanwhile, in a hidden panda village, it is revealed that Po's biological father (Fred Tatasciore) is still alive and senses that his child is still out there, opening up possibilities for new adventures in the future.
