John trained to sharpen his skills, preparing for bigger battles. Meanwhile, the High Table increases the pressure by appointing Marquis Vincent de Gramont (Bill Skarsgård), a ruthless and ambitious senior member, to handle the “John Wick problem."The Marquis has unlimited power and cunning strategies, including manipulating the rules of the High Table to his advantage.
Marquis memulai dengan menghukum Winston (Ian McShane), manajer Continental Hotel di New York, dan Charon (Lance Reddick), concierge setianya, karena dianggap membantu John di masa lalu. The Marquis destroys the Continental New York as a warning and raises the price of John's bounty to unprecedented levels, attracting more hitmen to hunt him down.
John, who is now moving from one city to another, is looking for a way to challenge the High Table head-on. He gets a hint that the only path to freedom is to use the ancient rules of the High Table: One-on-one duels under the law of organization. To get the right to challenge the Marquis in a duel, John must enlist the support of one of the criminal families that still have a seat at the High Table.
John goes to Osaka, Japan, to seek refuge in Continental Osaka, which is run by his old friend, Koji Shimazu (Hiroyuki Sanada), and his daughter, Akira (Rina Sawayama). However, the Marquis sends an army of assassins, led by a highly skilled blind bounty hunter named Caine (Donnie Yen), to attack Continental Osaka. Caine, who is also John's former friend, is forced to work for the Marquis because the High Table threatens his daughter's safety. A fierce battle ensues, with John, Koji, and Akira fighting off waves of enemies. Although he manages to survive, great sacrifices must be paid, including a tragic death that deepens John's emotional conflict.
After the events in Osaka, John heads to Berlin to confront Ruska Roma, a crime family that was once part of his past. To regain his status in this family and gain admission to the High Table, John must kill Killa (Scott Adkins), a sadistic crime boss responsible for the death of one of the Ruska Roma members. A brutal fight in a Berlin nightclub demonstrates John's unrivaled abilities, even though he has to face increasingly severe physical and emotional obstacles.
Meanwhile, a mysterious hunter named Mr. Nobody (Shamier Anderson), along with his faithful dog, continues to stalk John. Mr. Nobody initially appears to be an enemy, but his motivations are more complex, driven by money and personal principles, which makes him an unexpected ally later in life.
Climax in Paris
John finally managed to secure a duel against the Marquis in Paris, with an ancient rule stipulating that the winner of the duel would be free from the High Table. The Duel was scheduled to take place in the Sacré-Cîur at sunrise, with Winston acting as an intermediary. However, the Marquis plays a dirty trick by appointing Caine as his replacement in the duel, forcing John to face his old friend in a life-and-death fight.
Before the duel, the Marquis sends an army of assassins to prevent John from reaching the location in time. This sets off one of the most epic action sequences in the film: John fights his way through the streets of Paris, including a shootout at the Arc de Triomphe and a brutal battle on the stairs leading to the Sacré-Cîur. With Caine's help, Mr. Nobody, dan bahkan Bowery King, John akhirnya tiba di lokasi duel.
The Duel at the Sacré-Cîur became an emotional and visual climax. John and Caine, both bound by respect and past conflict, fight with strategy and honor. John apparently sacrificed himself in order to ensure Caine's freedom and weaken the Marquis ' power. However, in a clever twist, John manages to turn things around, utilizing the dueling rules to end the Marquis ' threat.
Closing
After the battle, John seemed to achieve the peace he sought, albeit at a great price. The Film closes with an ambiguous tone about John's fate, leaving the audience wondering if he is really finding freedom or just a temporary break from the cycle of violence. Winston dan Bowery King merenungkan warisan John, sementara Caine kembali ke kehidupan pribadinya, bebas dari cengkeraman High Table.
