However, tragedy struck after the exhibition. A mysterious fire engulfed the Exhibition Building, and Tadashi was killed while trying to save Callaghan, who is believed to have also died. Hiro, who lost his brother and his microbots in a fire, falls into deep grief and isolates himself.
