Complete Synopsis Of Aladdin

Aladdin is a classic animated film produced by Walt Disney Pictures released in 1992, based on the Arabic folklore of Alf Layla wa Layla (One Thousand And One Nights). The Film tells The Adventures of a poor young man named Aladdin in the fictional city of Agrabah, whose life changes after discovering a magic lamp containing a smart and humorous Genie. Here is the most complete synopsis of the film:

Background Story

The story is set in Agrabah, a bustling desert city with busy markets, grand palaces, and the social contrast between the common people and the nobility. Agrabah is led by a kind but impressionable Sultan, who lives in the palace with his daughter, Princess Jasmine. On the other hand, Jafar, a cunning advisor to the Sultan, aspires to rule Agrabah by the power of dark magic.

Title: The Life Of Aladdin

Aladdin is a poor young man who lives as a petty thief in the markets of Agrabah with his pet monkey, Abu. Although poor, Aladdin had a sincere heart and dreamed of living better. He often shared his stolen food with orphans, demonstrating his generous nature. However, he feels trapped in the life of a “street rat” and wants to prove that he is more than just a thief.

Meanwhile, at the Palace, Princess Jasmine feels constrained by royal life. She rejected the arranged marriages imposed by her father and the laws that required her to marry a prince. Longing for freedom, Jasmine sneaks out of the palace and disguises herself as a commoner, which leads her to meet with Aladdin in the market.

Aladdin and Jasmine

At the market, Aladdin saves Jasmine from a merchant's wrath when Jasmine, who does not understand the value of money, gives an Apple to a child without paying. The Chemistry between the two is immediate, with Aladdin being fascinated by Jasmine's beauty and free spirit, while Jasmine loves Aladdin's honesty and courage. However, their meeting is interrupted when the palace guards arrest Aladdin on the orders of Jafar, who is disguised as an ordinary person. Jasmine, who reveals her identity as the princess, is angry and demands Aladdin's release, but Jafar lies that Aladdin has been executed.

Magic lamp and Genie

Aladdin is thrown into prison, but Jafar, who learns that Aladdin is a “diamond in the rough stone” from a magic prophecy, manipulates Aladdin into retrieving a magic lamp from the cave of Wonders. This cave only allows someone who is “pure in heart” to enter, and Aladdin fulfills that condition. Together with Abu, Aladdin enters a cave full of treasures, but is forbidden to touch anything except the lamp. In the cave, they meet a Magic Carpet, which helps them navigate the traps.

After obtaining the lamp, Ash accidentally touches the Forbidden gem, causing the cave to collapse. Jafar, who betrayed Aladdin, tries to seize the lamp but fails, and Aladdin is trapped in the cave. In desperation, Aladdin rubs the lamp and frees the Genie, a magical creature full of energy and humor. The genie explains that he can grant Aladdin three sweets, with restrictions: it is not allowed to kill, make someone fall in love, or raise the dead. Aladdin, with his intelligence, tricked the Genie into taking him out of the cave without using a request.

Transformation Into A Prince

To win Jasmine's heart and prove himself worthy, Aladdin uses his first request that the Genie transform him into “Prince Ali,” a wealthy nobleman with a magnificent cortege. With the help of the Genie, Aladdin entered Agrabah with a spectacular parade, stunning the townspeople and the Sultan, who immediately liked “Prince Ali.” However, Jasmine was initially unimpressed, feeling Ali was just an arrogant Prince like the other suitors. After Aladdin invites her to fly on a magic carpet in a romantic evening (accompanied by a song A Whole New World), Jasmine begins to fall in love, although she suspects that Ali is similar to the young man she met at the market.

Conflict with Jafar

Jafar, increasingly suspicious of Prince Ali, attempts to uncover Aladdin's true identity. He also continues to pursue the magic lamp to gain control of Agrabah. With the help of his loyal parrot, Iago, Jafar steals a lamp from Aladdin and uses his first wish to become Sultan. When the Sultan and Jasmine refuse to submit, Jafar uses his second wish to become the world's most powerful sorcerer, turning Agrabah into chaos and enslaving the Sultan and Jasmine.

Aladdin, who has lost the identity of Prince Ali, returns to Agrabah to confront Jafar. In the climactic fight, Aladdin uses his intelligence to manipulate Jafar. He taunts Jafar that Jin is stronger than him, prompting Jafar to use his last wish to become jin. However, Jafar does not realize that being a genie means he will be trapped in a lamp. After Jafar is transformed into a genie and sucked into a black lamp, Agrabah is at peace again.

Completion and end

With one request left, Aladdin faces a dilemma: remain a prince to marry Jasmine or free the Genie as he promised. Demonstrating the development of his character, Aladdin chooses to free the Genie, sacrificing his chance to become a noble. The genie, touched by Aladdin's kindness, becomes free and embarks on her own adventures.

The Sultan, seeing Aladdin's courage and honesty, changes the law so Jasmine can marry whomever she chooses. Jasmine chooses Aladdin, and they celebrate their engagement, signifying the beginning of a new life together. The Film closes with the Genie saying goodbye and a magic carpet that takes Aladdin and Jasmine flying into the night sky, towards their “new world”.
