Vino Giovanni Bastian was born in Jakarta on March 24, 1982 as the youngest child of Bastian Tito and Hj. Herna Debby. His father, Bastian Tito, was a famous novelist who created the legendary character Wiro Sableng, while his mother was of Minahasa blood. Despite coming from a family of artists, Vino was not pampered and educated with high discipline to be independent. He was not directed to pursue art or writing like his father, but was obliged to complete a formal education.
