Biografi Ryan Gosling Terlengkap dan Terbaru 2026: Dari Anak Mickey Mouse Club sampai Bintang Hollywood Multitalenta

Ryan Thomas Gosling is a Canadian actor, musician, producer, and director born on November 12, 1980 in London, Ontario, Canada. Now 45 years old (as of 2026), he is widely known for his iconic roles in The Notebook, Drive, La La Land, Barbie, and the latest Project Hail Mary. With three Oscar nominations, one Golden Globe, and a career spanning indie dramas to sci-fi blockbusters, Gosling remains one of Hollywood's most versatile and respected actors.

Early life: an unusual childhood

Ryan was born in St. Louis. Joseph’s Hospital, London, Ontario, dari pasangan Thomas Ray Gosling (salesman keliling pabrik kertas) dan Donna Wilson (sekretaris yang kemudian jadi guru). Keluarganya berlatar belakang French-Canadian, plus campuran English, Scottish, Irish, dan German. Mereka anggota Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), dan agama itu mewarnai hampir seluruh aspek kehidupan rumah tangga mereka. Because of his father's work, the family moved frequently, living in Cornwall and Burlington, Ontario. His parents divorced when Ryan was 13 years old. He and his older sister, Mandi, lived with their mother. Ryan once said this experience made him “think like a girl.”

School was full of drama. He was diagnosed with ADHD, had difficulty reading until the age of 10, and was often bullied. In the first grade, after watching First Blood (Sylvester Stallone as Rambo), he brought steak knives to school and threw them at friends during recess-his thoughts at the time were “I'm Rambo who went to war.” As a result, he was suspended, and his mother decided to home-school for a year. That period actually gave him a great sense of independence. He dropped out of high school at the age of 17 to focus on acting.

Since childhood Ryan has been performing. He sang at weddings with his older brother, joined a local ballet troupe, and was once the “head of security” at his uncle's Elvis impersonator show (named Elvis Perry). He even modeled his accent after Marlon Brando because he felt the Canadian accent sounded less “loud.”

Awal Karier: Dari Mouseketeer sampai Breakthrough

At the age of 12, Ryan attended an open audition in Montreal for The All-New Mickey Mouse Club. Ia mengalahkan 17.000 calon dan bergabung 1993–1995 bersama Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, dan Christina Aguilera. Film Debut Frankenstein and Me (1996). Small role in Remember the Titans (2000) paved the way, then he received critical acclaim as a Jewish teenager who became a neo-Nazi in The Believer (2001). Film itu memenangkan Grand Jury Prize di Sundance. Then came The Notebook (2004) which made him a world heartthrob.

Adult career: from Oscar to Ken

Ryan continues to choose challenging roles. Half Nelson (2006) earned him his first Oscar nomination as a drug addiction teacher. Lars and the Real Girl (2007) brought out his comedic side of absurdity. After a nearly three-year hiatus (including the incident of being fired from The Lovely Bones because it gained 60 pounds without the knowledge of director Peter Jackson—he drank melted Häagen-Dazs ice cream to gain weight), he returned with Blue Valentine, Crazy, Stupid, Love., Drive (he even helped assemble the gray Malibu car worn in the movie), and The Ides of March (All 2011).

He directed his debut Lost River (2014). Then The Big Short (2015), La La Land (2016) - his Golden Globe and second Oscar nomination, Blade Runner 2049 (2017), and First Man (2018) sebagai Neil Armstrong. After a long pause, The Gray Man (2022), then Barbie (2023) sebagai Ken yang membuatnya nominasi Oscar ketiga (Supporting Actor) dan mempopulerkan “I’m Just Ken.” The Fall Guy (2024) followed.

In 2026, Project Hail Mary(an adaptation of Andy Weir's novel, directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller) became one of the biggest films of the year. Ryan plays Dr. Ryland Grace, a science teacher who wakes up in a spaceship on a mission to save Earth. The Film opened with approximately $80.5 million domestically (an Amazon MGM Studios record) and a worldwide total of approximately $684 million, as well as receiving critical acclaim.
