Biography

Jung Kyoung-ho (정경호) is a South Korean actor born in August 31, 1983 (now 42 years old). He is known as a “Believe and watch” (믿고 보는 배우) actor with versatile acting skills, ranging from cold and rude roles to warm, funny and heartfelt characters. It is under the agency Management Allum.

Family background and childhood

Jung Kyoung-ho is the son of Jung Eul-young, veteran TV director who often collaborates with legendary writers Kim Soo-hyun in hit dramas such as Mom’s Dead Upset, My Husband’s Woman, Life Is Beautiful, and Childless Comfort. His father initially strongly opposed his son became an actor knowing how tough the industry is. Therefore, Jung Kyoung-ho running away from home and did not talk to his father during 3 full years. Finally they reconciled, and their relationship is now very close — his father even became a “friend” to him.

He graduated from Chung-Ang University Department of theater and Film (one of the best universities for aspiring actors in Korea). During her freshman year of college, she became roommates with a senior actor Ha Jung-woo, which became a great influence on his life. It was Ha Jung-woo who persuaded him to audition for KBS actors in 2003, and Jung graduated as a member KBS 20th Open Talent Audition.

Interesting facts: He used to enter Korean Wrestling Club (씨름) in junior high to gain weight, but after that it was easy to lose it again. He also graduated high school with good grades (1등급).

Acting career and Journey

Debuted in 2004 through mobile drama 5 Stars, then immediately skyrocketed through a Supporting Role in I’m Sorry, I Love You (2004) as Choi Yoon — a role that earned him being called a “talented new actor” with a fresh face and stable acting.

Early in his career he played many supporting roles or independent films. He also opened an online men's clothing shop Double Bill with actor Yoo Ha-jun in 2008.

Conscription from November 30, 2010 to September 4, 2012 (served in the military band, received commendation from the Chief of Staff of the Army).

Jung Kyoung-ho is dating Choi Soo-young (Girls’ Generation/Sooyoung) since early 2013 (it's been over 12 years!). They met on the same campus and at the same church. This relationship is one of the longest and most stable in the Korean entertainment industry.

Funny facts about relationships:

  • It used to be traumatic to eat beef & pork because of food poisoning, but for Soo-young's sake he started eating beef again.
  • Dog they named Ho-young (combined name KyungHo + SooYoung).
  • Second dog named Ae-bong (from his old white car named Bong-sik).
