Yoon Na-Moo started her career from the world of theater and musicals, instead of going straight to TV dramas like most actors. He made his debut in 2011 through “Private 3rd Class” (삼등병). Previously, he practiced a lot on the stage, including such musicals as “Coffee Prince 1st Store” (2012, debuted under the stage name Yoon Na-Moo), “Black Mary Poppins” (as Jonas, the youngest child with panic and speech disorders), "Ro Ki-su” (as a North Korean prisoner of war addicted to tap dance), and “The Showman” (where he played one character from ages 9 to 72, winning Best Actor at the 2022 Daegu International Musical Festival and the 2023 Korea Musical Awards).
His stage name was coined by his senior, actor Kim Soo-ro (who was also his professor at the University and managed him for a while), because his real name was too common among actors. The name "Na-Moo" (tree) was inspired from their rehearsal space, symbolizing sturdy actors and providing comfort.
He is known for choosing very challenging roles on stage, such as playing autistic characters in “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” a gangster in "Orphans”.
